(Many Jalop things after the jump) On March 2, 1836, in response to four Mexican revolutions in six years and the revocation of Mexico's Constitution of 1824, forty-one representatives from thirteen different Texas colonies met in Washinton-on-the-Brazos and signed the Texas Declaration of Independence. About a month and a half later, the Texas Army defeated the Mexican Army at the Battle of San Jacinto, captures General Santa Anna, won the war, and thus became our own Republic.
Rather than get into a political discussion (please refrain, thanks), I'd prefer to celebrate this day with my good friends here by sharing many of the Jalop things that I love about this great state. Add anything that I missed!

Wouldn't you rather be independent now?

Awe Texas, practically begged the union to be annexed after it became a republic. Good state though. Lot of awesome stuff as seen above.

As someone who lives in Texas, I have to say, it's pretty neat. Except stripping away rights from people. And crazy DPS shit.

Again, no political discussions, please.
I like living here too. Born and raised seventh generation Texan. My family came over in 1826 and my great x 5 grandfather fought in the Texas Army with Deaf Smith at the Grass Fight, and left the Alamo Mission two weeks before the siege began due to illness.

I was going to include all of the Foyts, but decided to leave them for the suggestions. :)
